Guest guest
Howdy Christina, > Hey, Butch - > > Thanks for that. Welcome you are. > > .. but you will have to admit that some of the more > > overzealous Eco-Terrorists do attempt to paint sellers > > and users of these oils with such a brush. > > Point taken. And I hope it's clear we aren't trying to negate one > point of view, just discuss the issue. Thanks .. and people can do their own research on this .. on the Net by researching news articles and such. They should not just take the word of those who write against the use of these oils for the reasons we have already heard .. many of those people simply parrot others who have an agenda and its NOT always about saving the Rain Forests. In many cases its an attempt to promote themselves or to have nice warm feelings because they are doing something .. at least .. for their fellow human beings .. and the environment. Such issues are not simple .. an economist could list more variables in the problem area than most people have considered. It is not unlike the issue of use of fossil fuels .. which obviously harms the environment and helps to fund Islamic Terrorism as well as promote Putinism .. or the sale of tobacco products that have their own list of problems. When someone take a broad sweep at combating many environmental problems they are not going to have the time to become knowledgeable on any of those problems. I would not begin a search using Rosewood as the key word .. I would use Rain Forests .. or Brazil .. or whatever. Then we can get the picture from a different angle. I have few articles that might help and will send them later .. gonna hit the rack now. I had many years of training and experience in analyzing political - military issues and I became proficient at identifying causes and effects .. but there is nothing special about that .. most people could do the same in a short time .. but even the most experienced specialists rarely can pin down acceptable solutions to problems identified. Look at the positions of various presidential candidates and we can get a feel for that. ;-) > You are right, too, that some folks would jump off a cliff if it > was the latest impressive thing to do.. Yep .. it might have a tad to do with their personal interpretation of what Political Correctness is all about .. or a need to be all they can be. I believe folks should do what they think is right .. long as they don't criticize me and mine for not jumping too. ;-) >> I've never met Chrissie .. if I were to meet her it is possible w >> we could even be friends .. if .. she was willing to admit she is >> not all knowing.<< > > Fair enough. That's how the two of us get along. Sho'nuf is .. and its how Martin and I get along. ;-) > Seriously, though, your post really points out the lack of good, > concrete info we have on this topic. I am going to assume that the > big oil houses, the really big guys in the flavor and fragrance > industry, are tracking this issue mightily at the moment. They do .. and there are major information clearing houses .. like David Cookson Company .. these folks follow the futures of oils. > Anyone have an idea how to get their hands on this kind of homework? The research I mentioned above can help if one approaches it with an open mind. The latest from Cookson .. on Rosewood they write: " Getting ongoing detailed information regarding production and deliveries remains one of our biggest problems (the other being the hurdles created by IBAMA.) > Thanks again, Butch.
