Guest guest
Howdy Stacey, > Hi Butch, > It's so good to hear from you! I hope you and the family are doing > well. (Miss you!) Thank you ma'am .. we are all finer'n frog hair split three ways and looking forward to spring so we can plant a MONSTROUS organic veggie garden. Missing you too .. wish I could have made the last AT shindig but it was just not possible. > Anyhow, I was very happy to see the following despite your > misgivings on the subject: > > >As for Rosewood .. there is none on the market right now .. there is a > hold on exports. This hold is not due to the Brazilian government > trying to save trees .. its a political thing .. an attempt to stroke > certain Western parties that are more righteous than informed .. and it > will be a matter of time before exports will again be allowed.< I'm glad that you are glad but I'm not sure what it is you are glad about. ;-) What is happening is .. its forcing folks like me to not sell it wholesale .. I'm holding back what I have for retail sales only and when they do release the Rosewood oil .. count on paying a lot more for it. Will that stop people from buying it? Patchouli prices have risen 128% and its still selling like mad .. same goes for Corsican Helichrysum italicum .. up 100% and everybody wants it. When gasoline hits $10 and cigarettes hit $5 a pack people will still purchase them if they drive or smoke. > Do you have an opinion on the use/sale of Rosewood twig/leaf oil and > its benefits aromatherapy-wise as opposed to the wood oil? My opinion is stated 2 or 3 times in the articles I referenced .. as for the odor .. it sucks. As for therapeutic benefits .. aside from the emotional or psychological aspects I have never believed .. or claimed .. that there was any. ;-) As for the amount being sold .. its piddling .. at best. You are too young to remember when during WW II, Americans made coffee from hickory buts and chicory .. I was alive then but too young to drink coffee .. I do remember hearing people complain about how bad it was .. sorta like substituting real Rosewood oil from heartwood for that made from leaves and twigs. One was short on caffiene and the other on chemical profile .. and in both cases the users needed a good imagination. ;-) You said you were cleaning tiles with Atlas Cedarwood (Cedrus atlantica) .. be careful to not let the Eco-Terrorists hear about this .. they will tell you that it is endangered. I am serious. ;-) > Hugs, > Stacey Yes ma'am .. and to you and yours. Y'all have a good one. And keep smiling. :-) Butch .. http://www.AV-AT.com .. who is still going through a transformation from International Galavanter to Tennessee Hill Billy and liking it a lot. ;-)

A few years ago I had a kilo of the leaf/twig oil... aromatically it was...you should excuse the expression... " twiggy " ... lacked both the depth and the sweetness of the wood oil. I didn't have it GC'd because back then I flat out couldn't afford the test... but it obviously had a very different composition than the traditional wood oil and would not/could not be used interchangeably. In my experience it was fairly useless except as a curiousity, or to placate those who were appalled that one would offer the true wood oil.
