Guest guest
Hey groupsters, I like to use all-natural cleaning products - vinegar, baking soda, re- useable cloth, etc. The other night I went to a class, to soak up some new ideas. Here's the easiest, best idea I heard: As you eat lemons, limes, and oranges, dump the citrus peels in with the white vinegar you use for cleaning. The peels cut the harsh smell of the vinegar, and add a bit of extra cleaning power. I dumped citrus peels in one gallon of vinegar, and fresh lavender branches in the other. What a treat. Just a day later, they smell a lot more mellow. I'm looking forward to cleaning with these. Anyone have any other suggestions for natural cleaning? Guest guest
Hi Christina, What a brilliant idea! I have been helping my father clean a rental property he owns that is pretty gross and even the ‘natural orange cleaning power’ product one is giving me a rash on my arms. I can’t stand the smell of vinegar, but will definitely give this one a go. Guest guest
> Anyone have any other suggestions for natural cleaning? Hey Chris, your mellow infused vinegar sounds great. You might also try jojoba oil with Atlas Cedar for furniture polish (I believe Marge has tried this, too). And I like Murphy's Oil Soap with extra Cedar and Cypress to tone down its natural Palmarosa scent. Oh yeah, Valerie Worwood's book has a whole section on household cleaning blends you might want to check out. (Her general AT book... can't remember the name at the moment.) Guest guest
Hey, Jeanine, hope it works for you, too. Thanks, Stacey. I'll give the Valerie Wormword book a go. I do use jojoba on wood, and it's very effective. Also seals in the shine on my newly-cleaned stainless-steel kitchen sink. I used my new citrus-vinegar today! It worked really well, especially on floors, and didn't leave a lot of that sharp vinegar smell around. I got a little carried away, and dumped some dried rose petals in another gallon of vinegar. I hope that works out. Hate to waste flowers like that. Cheers, Christina
