OT: Gary Bourbonais is ill, pray for a speedy recovery

I'm very shaken up as I write this, in near tears. I'm sending it to the

NP group, and the ATFE group, as some of Gary's former

buds from the old idma group are on those groups. I've known Gary for

ten years, and he calls occasionally, always interesting and insightful,

as are his posts on the group. I got a call a few minutes ago from Gary,

and his voice sounded very different and I barely recognized the words

" Hi List Mom " (which he always calls me). He's in the hospital after

having a stroke. I'm hoping it's a very mild one from the fact he could

talk. I did not ask about paralysis, or the severity of the stroke, but

a stroke is a " brain attack " and always very serious. He asked that I

put him on Special Notice so his mailbox doesn't get clogged -- there's

that tidy Midwestern personality :-)

 

So please keep him in your prayers and hopefully he'll be back, healthy

again, very soon. If you wish, you can post best wishes for a speedy

recovery here and he can read them when he returns.

Thanks for letting us know Anya! Any info on where we may be able to

send a get well card, etc ... ?

 

If you talk to Gary again, please tell him we're rooting for him over

here on OHE!
