Guest guest
Howdy Judy, > Just tell her you already buy your pure essential oils direct! > But .. only Gary Young produces the world's finest oils. ;-) Or you could say that you (and your spouse/family/whatever) do not deal > with mlm's in any form. > Right .. because we do not want to lose friends or alienate family members. That is always a danger when one is selling MLM products. A few years ago one of the Down Line messages sent to many YL dealers contained instructions on how to get their church involved in the sale of YL products. :-( I buy mine from several places. One wholesaler I really like is Butch > from AVAT. http://www.av-at.com/ (Website isn't very pretty but this man > is very knowledgeable!) > Thank you ma'am .. appreciated is your kindness in describing my web site. Its not pretty for sure .. its a hideous monster that looks like its been run over by a Mac truck, ;-) That site was custom designed by Graham Sorenson back in 1999 but since then systems have come forward and now the site will not even support my Shopping Cart .. howsomeever. I am negotiating with a feller who is going to create a new one for me .. Good Lawd Willing and the Creeks Don't Rise .. it will be on line this month. :-P Oh yea .. I've been telling folks for a couple of months now that the EO market was as volatile as the EOs themselves .. it is a norm for EO costs to increase somewhat after the products produced each year are grabbed up by the major international brokers .. they need a profit too. But this year has been unusual in that some prices are still moving up and down. One of the difficult things about being in the business of sellng EO is keeping up with current price trends .. its terribly time consuming. The Essential Oils market must be viewed as one would view the International Commodities Market. There are no bargains on wheat, corn, soybeans, Portland Cement, urea and such .. and there are no bargains on pure, quality EO. Bulk prices are fixed prices and they are driven by supply and demand. Though there will be slight fluctuations, demand will usually remain fixed to a degree that producers can forecast future needs .. but supply is driven by a number of variables .. some of which can't be controlled .. climate change and other natural phenomena are in this category. Floods, draught, wild fires, typhoons, increased transportation costs, devaluation of the US Dollar and the general impact of climate change have all had a negative impact on some aromatic and crops during the 2007 crop year. Prices for some EO have increased .. some have declined .. world wide. I just finished an exhaustive analysis of my prices .. I converted kilos to pounds to ounces to milligrams to get as close to my costs as possible and I found that I could drop prices on around 70% of the EO I offer .. these changes will be posted to my web site in the next few days but I am now giving folks who order wholesale the benefit of the new pricing now. On the other hand, there were some extreme price increases .. Rose Otto up around 90% due to a 35% reduction in crop yield and there is NONE to be purchased in Turkey now .. it was all sold to the highest bidders, mostly to European perfumeries. Corsican Helichrysum italicum is up around 90%, Mysore Sandalwood around 50%, Haitian Vetiver around 40% and so on. Indonesian Patchouli prices have gone up over 62% and the market is still volatile due to (my opinion) farmers holding back product .. similar to American farmers stashing corn in a silo rather than selling it on the market when the market is flush. The supply of Patch is small now but the demand remains the same and prices are still fluctuating. Lavenders from France and Bulgaria went up around 15% .. even Clary Sage from the USA increased around 10%. Some good news is that the cost of Vanilla Absolute from Madagascar has stabilized. ;-) Current EO prices can change again at any time .. folks who follow International Market trends are finding that prices are moving around like a Mexican Jumping Bean.
