Howdy Sue,

Hello,

Correct .. and its not unusual for such shoddy tests to be reported as being

scientific proof of this or that .. for marketing purposes. Extrapolation

of conclusions from known facts is a norm in the AT business and in the

commercial world of TV advertising.

Also interesting would be knowledge of which Eucalyptus of the 50 +

varieties of Eucalyptus they were speaking of ..

I told the lady it was sales hype just trying to sell her oils, how

> would one know if they died if you can't see them. I told her dust

> mites live all over.......

Agree totally!

The store owner claimed to be a certified natural practitioner

> probably from the same type of phoney schools being discussed now.

This " certification " crap is all around .. y'all send me $10 and I'll send

you ten questions and if you get 5 of them correct I'll send you a fancy

certificate of certification from Butch Owen's Guaranteed To Not Rust, Bust

or Collect Dust Academy of Natural Practice of .. uggg .. y'all gotta tell

me what kinda Natural Practice you want on the certificate. ;-)

She was concerned about her cats and I do not like to see caring

> individuals duped for a sale $$.

Yep .. as you know .. odds of the cats licking the carpets are not all that

great unless they liked the taste .. but the odor could bother them.

With a large house full of carpet and told to spray the complete

> surface sure would make a big oil sale$$.

That's what its all about .. and I'm inclined to believe that spraying

essential oils on all carpets is not a safe thing to do anyway. Most all

carpets are colored with a combination of chemicals and when we add other

chemicals the results might not be what we want. I bet a purty they will

not give a written guarantee of their acceptance of liability in such

cases. I have more Turkish carpets than we have room for .. 26 years in

Turkey I collected a few .. the older ones have natural dyes but the newer

ones are chemically dyed. We clean immediate spills with milk and then

follow that up with a solution of vinegar and water. Long, long ago I

wrote the following .. I oughta update it cause I'm not in the carpet

business now and I'm no longer in Ankara .. http://www.av-at.com/carpet.html
