Guest guest
Hello, I have oily skin, and there is no way I can put some carrier oils on my face during day time and go out . So, I was thinking, can anybody recommend me a good quality vegetable based non fragranced, non greasy kind of lotion to which I can add some essential oils ? Also, I would like to know is it very important to add essential oils with the above described kind of lotion or I can add oils with any commercially available lotion ? I would really appreciate any reply , any kind of feedback from the group members. Regards, Sraboni Unlimited freedom, unlimited storage. Guest guest
I have oily skin prone to break outs. I use hazelnut oil. When I use it, I use only 2 or 3 drops from a dropper in the palm of my hand. Then I spray 3 or 4 sprays of my hydrosol toner. Mix and pat on my face. No oily feeling and the hazelnut oil is slightly astringent itself. I really like the way my face feels and I have yet to get any wrinkles. Sometimes I add a drop of rose and/or neroli to my bottle of oil to make it smell nice. --\ ------------- Designer at Scrapbook-Bytes http://www.takeapick.com/2IH *Some people only dream of angels; we held one in our arms.* Remembering Jacob March 8 - 9, 1996 Our Angel: http://sids-network.org/fp/jacob.htm - " Sraboni Dutta " <sraboni_muk <ATFE2 > Monday, September 17, 2007 4:14 AM [ATFE2] Vegetable based Lotion > Hello, > > I have oily skin, and there is no way I can put some carrier oils on my face during day time and go out . Guest guest
Hi Sraboni, Have you tried Fractionated Coconut Oil? I like the way it doesn't clog my pores, but still manages a bit of moisturizing. I apply it while my face is still moist, or I use water (or ideally rose hydrosol) first, then apply the oil. Because so much of the goodness of the oil has been removed, it's not perfect. I use virgin coconut oil, or a good lotion, around my eyes, where the skin is very delicate and I am not likely to break out. Cheers, Christina
Guest guest
Hi Another carrier to consider is Jojoba, a wax more than an oil it helps balance the skin. I personally use virgin coconut oil (my skin is on the dry side) and find that works wonders. I never use essential oils in something I'm going to use daily as I just think its to much exposure to them. Likewise I dont use commercial products for the same reason. Every now and then I whizz up a face pack using a clay base or seaweed base blended to a paste with Jojoba (or sometimes rose-hip) and add a drop of Rose. Yummy! I will add EO's for short term use if I have a particular problem. But wouldn't use that for more than a week max. LLx
