Guest guest
I must have missed the part about using Lemon Myrtle for Summer Colds...why Lemon Myrtle rather than Oregano EO ? And how do you use the Lemon Myrtle ? ~malinda Malinda, Butch wrote it in a letter a couple weeks ago. Was glad I remembered. Just defused it. Guest guest
Thanks, Marge. I use it in a diffuser but want to take a bottle to work for my office. This info is helpful. Will I need to shake it each time or will the alcohol " emulsify " the oil/alcohol/water? -Helen perfumer's alcohol, everclear, vodka...all will work for you! just dilute the eo in the alcohol before adding any water (if you plan on using water, at all) the other option, of course, is using an essential oil diffuser and the undiluted EO. I'd look at better spray bottles. > So . . . can I mix > a perfumers alcohol with the water without having a negative impact on > the EO?? You can certainly spray alcohol with eo's into the air, but I think the idea is a little counter intuitive. You can also add a small amount of alcohol to your eo and then mix with water, but it will not make any difference for your issue about spraying. Honestly, I would not suggest spraying alcohol with eo into the air for an air freshener. If you want to avoid spraying, I'd find an entirely different method. Use a nebulizer type diffuser to suspend the eo into the air in a very fine mist and increase the benefits and value of the eo. Personally, I diffuse only for very specific reasons (colds etc) and use a water based spray (sometimes with a little alcohol) otherwise. I use them heavily and have never gotten a drop on my floor. If you have carpet you could also sprinkle with baking soda and vacuum. Guest guest
My reactions to inhaling Lemon Myrtle - poetic licence may have been used. As a Sagittarian, this is to be expected. I recently purchased a bottle of Lemon Myrtle while on holiday in Queensland. I had previously been gifted a bottle and although it was pleasant, it was not attention grabbing either. My new bottle is stunning. Once I have finally (@#!!!) mastered the child-proof cap, I inhale the rich lemony scent and instantly my mouth fills with saliva. The greedy brain thinks " Yay, lemon meringue pie on its way! " The aroma to me seems more rounded than lemon EO, and I enjoy its freshness when I use it as a roomspray or in my oil burner. ( too much citral for use in massage, I think) I feel very uplifted around Lemon Myrtle, it seems to cut through brain fog, a great benefit when one is menopausal. At the same time it is a very relaxing oil that seems to 'wash away the clutter'. It is the first week of spring here in New Zealand, what a joke, it is raining and cold, so with the head clearing aroma buzzing among the jaded braincells, it is obviously time to enjoy a glass of Sauvignon Blanc. Guest guest
Ok - I have to join in here!! Lemon myrtle; where do I start?! More lemony than lemon. Crisp, citrusy, rainforesty, sweet, uplifting, happy, vibrant, heady, OK, I've run out of words. Great to use in soap and cheesecake. Wonderful to eat in cheese, sipping a white wine from our Granite Belt region!! Cheers everyone, 'Bottoms up' Martin & Tony!! Fiona Aust.
