Guest guest
" At the end of the day the question has to be asked-what for? In my opinion the skin absorption issue is a dead duck which should be laid to rest. " And while the issue of skin absorption should be laid to rest, the issue of sensitivity should not... I have a poll running at Aromatic Sage... The numbers are small but worrying for those who use eo's on themselves or others. thus far: 16% of folk who use EO's are allergic to using them neat...13% neat OR diluted thats 29% in total. 2% aren't sure. Which means they may have had a reaction at one time or another but aren't sure if it was caused by eo's. It begs the question, should we use oils at all on our skin or just stick to inhalation? Throwing this chicken into the pot just to watch some people boil. ;-) K On 9/1/07, Martin Watt <aromamedical wrote: > > . > > > -- Cheers! Guest guest
These figures are typical of the kind of unevaluated information that does aromatherapy no good. The questions posed do not ask if the condition has been medically diagnosed and without that the figures mean nothing. Aromatherapy has always been packed with people who report the most crazy adverse reactions 99% of which are self induced psychosomatic ones, rather than genuine physical reactions. I can see the good objectives of the survey, but the potential negative effects just add to the regulators armoury.
