Guest guest
Thank you, everyone. Today is my 9th 28th birthday and it's been great so far. I'm heading off to Balboa Park now, then afterward dinner with family. I already got a little walk in this morning to help burn off some of this little cold I picked up on the plane. It's also of course the big day I stop smoking and become a woman after resisting for so many years. (Maidens are fun and such, but it's time to move on!) Also such a relief to know I'll have much more time and energy free to do things that matter... like write my AT book, maybe another book, volunteer, teach, mentor, *work* and finish school. (You might not think it takes up much time, but smoking does for me and it's a burden I no longer want hanging over me.) Thanks again, kiddies! Guest guest
Happy B'day, stace, and good luck with the no-smoking decision, which will make it really memorable for the rest of your life. When I quit my two-pack a day habit, I went cold turkey, but did attend a week-long clinic at the same time, which helped. Major things I remember: drink TONS of water to quickly flush nicotine out of your system, and remember to avoid people and associations of events with ciggies. Triggers can shoot off more than a gun :-P Stacey wrote: > Thank you, everyone. Today is my 9th 28th birthday and it's been great > so far. Guest guest
Happy 28th birthday Stacey! Good luck with the quitting smoking thing! I took up knitting once when I quit cold turkey.... by the time I got through it I had knitted 5 sweaters! ROFLMAO! I'm quitting (again) on my next birthday (Nov). I go ten years without smoking, take it up again for 3, then quit again. I always go cold turkey... hope I can do it again. K On 8/28/07, Stacey <stacey612 wrote: > > . > > > -- Cheers!
