Guest guest
Hi, Just back from Christchurch and our annual New Zealand aromatherapy conference. We had Farida Irani , an Ayurvedic Aromatherapist,as our main speaker,..............those exotic Ayurvedic oils...I went mad and spent lots of money, but our home smells divine. I have yet again put my hand up to do the next conference in Auckland. I did it last year so I figure this time it will be easier. We stayed in a boarding school for $40 per night, it was such fun. We sneaked some wine and nibbles into the common room and told stories and laughed and just all connected in that very special way that you do when you are all on the same wavelength. There was a biggish lady with more than a few male hormones who was the Matron, and she locked us out when we returned from dinner at 9.50pm. We had been told she would lock upat 10. She looked a bit scary in her PJ's as she wielded the key to let us in the Next day we had a lovely little Asian lady show us a demonstration of Tai Chi, she looked so serene. We had a talk about and how she uses aromatherapy oils in her practice, and then we all followed her through a simple Tai Chi routine. It was so amazing, we all felt invigorated, and it set us up for the day. Her English was not the best, so she was acting out what she was saying, her enthusiasim made it easy to understand her. It was great to compare the Ayurveda approach with the Chinese Medicine approach to aromatherapy and note the similarities. So, now it is time to chill out for a few days and then get on with 2008's conference, and finding speakers etc. What a weekend!
