Do you have any sort of curriculum you could send me with more details

about what you will cover in the workshop? I am trying to talk a

friend into coming...we are especially interested in knowing how much

hands on vs theory etc that is included.

Dear Eden -

 

I'm attaching our curriculum list and hours for the postpartum ayurveda program

(being changed this year, removing some of perinatal essential oils and the

advanced postpartum herbals to contining ed status). I have to apologize, this

piece has not been edited yet to reflect the program updates that way. You will

find also detail on the first two units, to give example. And what we use for

recommended reading.

 

There is much hands on and other practical material with extensive notes in the

classes.

 

* The first unit includes postpartum cooking (and eating these foods ourselves,

the course takes us into vata season).

* For Infant massage we work with 2 sets of mothers and babies

* In basic postpartum herbals we prepare and taste several important and 2

challenging, fascinating to prepare herbal food supports.

* Essential oils are experienced as we learn about them.

* The mother's home spa treatments include giving 3 and receiving 2 of the

mother's special abyhanga each.

* Lots of case examples are given throughout, including focus and extensive

notes in the consulting unit.

* Practical discussion and all kinds of sample documents are provided in the

Protocols and promoting your practice last unit.

 

Each unit has a test and homework; the latter doubles as basis for preceptor

discussions with the student about your practice of the material with " clients "

and part of your internship practicum.

 

The first unit gives the body of theory, then it is woven into the more

practical experience in the subsequent units with less on theory, more on doing.

 

Internship even as most do it, from a distance, is carefully outlined by how

many times to practice this or that as approximate needed for skill polishing

while you are in touch with your preceptor to tweak your experience.
