The birth was Thursday night after layers of inducement, fortunately a vaginal

birth. They were transported last night when the baby was throwing up bile

yesterday or evening (details missing just now) and they were transported 2

hours to larger hospital.

This is not in my experience or training - Can any of you give help with help

understanding why a 1 day old's body might do this, and any supports an

AyurDoula or Ayurvedic physician might give?

Mother has not slept now for 2 nights. We can thank God for cortisol to get Mama

through, though she will definitely need extra supports when we can get them to

her. She does have her mother and husband with her.

Thank you so much -

Ysha

Yes - I agree and thank you for reminders. Hopefully I get to talk with them

tomorrow again. Love, Ysha

> My instincts and so many things I have read say that this is not a time to

separate parents from baby. Skin on skin is important. Nothing should go into

the baby's system except colostrum. Of course the moms emotionally crashing,

it's unnatural to separate them when the baby most needs them. The hospital is

thinking from a liability standpoint, the parents have more rights than the

hospital will tell them. Vicky

Mother and baby were released on Wednesday from the hospital and happily though

exhausted, home and nursing well. (They are flying me there on Monday). The

docs decided it was weakness in the digestive system. Barbara Pepper, senior

midwife here, says that it sounded like baby was just spitting up cholostrum for

whatever reason, as cholostrum's color can be from clear to dark yellow and

become greenish looking from ingestion.
