Guest guest
Well Larry, my goodness. All I can say is thank you. As for having it all together..... LOL LOL LOL! Those who know me will tell you that I have my moments. As for how someone can be sure that an organic nursery is truly "organic," all I can say is do your homework. Ask questions. It might be preferable to order the supplement from http://www.sutherlandiaopc.com . That way you can be assured as to its safety.Whichever route you choose to take, please let me know how your friend progresses.Warm regards, oleander soup , "lovemypooch51" <lovemypooch51 wrote:>> I have spent all day reading the posts and various articles in this> forum. Guest guest
Hi All - I am new to this group and would like to offer an introduction. My name is Cheryl, I'm a first time mom in my 40's after eight long years of fertility treatments. I am usually a naturally-minded person but needed Western doctors to assist in my quest of becoming pregnant, staying pregnant and now I am enjoying finally being a Mom. I underwent a hysteroscopy that detected a large uterine septum, which was successfully corrected. My doctor told me that the correction enlarged my uterus by 2/3 and could very well have been the reason for two miscarriages and many failed cycles. My successful pregnancy occurred with the very first treatment cycle four months after uterine septum repair. I am an avid Young Living Essential Oil user, a huge advocate for acupuncture, cranial sacral therapy, doulas and Hypnobabies. I started using YLEO in 1996. Since 2000, I have attended many trainings offered by Cherie Ross and Young Living and others. I am very excited to be learning more and more about essential oils, pregnancy, labor & delivery, postpartum and babies. Here are some of the tidbits that I've learned along the way: Uterine Fibroids: I had an ultrasound prior to my pregnancy that showed 12 uterine fibroids. My doctor was concerned that I might have to have a c-section because of the number, size and placement of these fibroids. I looked up in my Essential Oil desk reference which oil might help and choose YL Lavender oil. I applied several drops twice a day. By week 20 ultrasound, the 5 cm fibroid shrank to 2 cm and was no longer threatening a vaginal delivery. My post-partum ultrasound shows that these 12 fibroids are now just two small fibroids < 2cm. Stretch Marks: I chose YL Lavender oil plus YL Tender Tush product to apply on my abdomen to reduce the risk of stretch marks. I am happy to say that I have no stretch marks. Irritable Uterus/premature contractions: By week 22, I was having light but steady contractions that sent me to the hospital twice. I learned that applying YL Lavender oil over abdomen helped calm the uterine muscle, slowing and stopping these contractions. Leg Cramps: Besides adding calcium, magnesium and potassium to my diet, I applied YL Lavender oil to my calves which helped reduce the number of nighttime leg cramps. I was also successful in using my Hypnobabies skills to relax muscles that insisted on cramping anyway. pubis symphasis: I started seeing my cranial sacral therapist around week 37 when I suddenly had sharp pains in pubic bone area. She helped with alleviating some pain and also helped in positioning baby for delivery. Acupuncture/chinese herbs: I used both these to help with gallbladder issues and blood sugar issues. I also used YL oils that helped with liver and blood sugars. Labor & Delivery: At 40 weeks, after three weeks of itchy hands and feet that had me concerned about cholestasis of pregnancy and also elevated blood pressure and a bishop's score of seven, I agreed to an induction beginning with cervadil. At 6:00 p.m. Friday May 8th the cervadil was placed. I was already 3 cm. I ate a chicken dinner, put on my MP3 player with one of the relaxing Hypnobabies scripts and drifted off to sleep. At 1:15 a.m. I woke up thinking I had leaked and went to the bathroom. My husband and nurse concluded I must have lost bladder control and the nurse left after changing the chux pad. My plan was to return to the bed to rest possibly sleep some more, but that was no longer comfortable. At 1:40 as I was sitting on the edge of the bed my water broke showing meconium staining. We rang the nurse again who checked me, removed the cervadil as I was now 5 cm. Our doula was called, I took a capsule of 4 drops Young Living Clary Sage oil and headed to the shower to clean up. I stayed in the shower for several minutes and when I came out, changed and applied the same Clary Sage oil on my ankles. Doula Jessie arrived at 2:15 and rang for the nurse as I sounded pushy. Nurse checked me once more and I had gone from 5 cm to 10 and complete in 35 minutes. (Anecdotal stories indicate YL Clary Sage oil is excellent at speeding up labor and restarting stalled labor). My wonderful doula assisted me in learning how to push, following my body and helped me find a position in which I felt comfortable for delivery which was on my knees with torso and arms draped over the backside of the bed in vertical position. After finally figuring out which position was productive for me, baby Olivia entered this world at 3:55 a.m. 8 lb 6 oz and 20 1/2 " . It was a wonderful ending after years of tears and heartbreak, and a challenging pregnancy where caregivers were pretty sure I would deliver early and/or need a c-section. New Baby: Now that Olivia is here, I trust YL Lavender oil's purity and I am confident when I use it on her, that I am getting the effect and action without any harmful chemicals. Chapped skin: Olivia has been drooling so much that her chin has become chapped. I use a tiny diluted drop over her skin and the redness quickly disappears. Fussy baby: I put several drops in a diffuser and have it near her so when she is fussy before bedtime, this can help her relax and fall asleep. Bathwater: I put a drop in Olivia's bathwater to help scent the bath and apply all over her skin in a very diluted manner. She usually sleeps very well after a bath. Teething: Another friend of mind put a drop of YL Lavender oil on gauze and rubbed her baby's gums. This seemed to ease the teething pain. YL also has a Lavender lip balm. I have used this as well on her skin, mostly her chapped chin. For my recovery, I was taken by surprise at the adjustment my body was making to return to its former smaller shape. I continued to use lavender and Ortho Ease - a massage oil for sore muscles - abdominally to help with the abdominal muscle cramps as my tummy muscles adjusted. I also continued to visit my cranial sacral therapist who helped my body adjust to post-delivery and smaller shape. To help me sleep I used RutaVaLa, an oil blend that helps me achieve a deep sleep, even after baby was here. I attribute this oil blend in helping me return to sleep quickly after night nursings. I had taken Essential Fatty Acids and DHA during pregnancy and continued afterwards. I never experienced any post-partum blues. I certainly do not have all the answers, but I might have some information that could help others and I am very happy to share what I know. I am a computer programmer with years of personal experience using oils. I am not a medical professional and because of the laws of this country I cannot diagnose or prescribe. I can share what I did or what I might do in certain cases. I look forward to learning even more from all of you.
