Guest guest
Hi Dear Ones - Thought you might be interested in this - http://thecholesterolliereview.com/your-brain-on-statins/ Here's one excerpt from the article, Your Brain On Statins | Great Cholesterol Lie Review. A study out of UCLA recently found that many people are having heart attacks even though their cholesterol is at or below the 100 mg/dL target. There is no doubt in my mind that this study will be used as fodder to encourage increased use of statins. This will be despite the fact that 21% of the people in the study were using statins, and still had heart attacks.4 From other sources, specifically about ghee According to Dr. Rudolph Ballentine MD, clarrified butter contains butyric acid, a fatty acid that has antiviral and anti cancer properties, and raises the level of the antiviral chemical interferon in the body. Butyric acid also has characteristics found to be helpful in the prevention and treatment of Alzheimer's disease. (Ballentine R, " Transition to Vegetarianism " Honesdale PA, The Himalayan International Institute, 1987). Accoring to Dr. Sunil V. Joshi, master ayurvedic physician and panchakarma specialist - Ghee increases Agni, without increasing pitta in reasonable amounts. ghee nourishes ojas, the immune system, and brings luster to the body. ghee contains beneficial essential fatty acids and can reduce blood vcholesterol. ghee does not contain the additives and solids that obstruct the channels of the body. as I had heard that some of Maharishi's perusha were developing high cholesterol, we all thought it was the ghee. However, it occurs to me that there may be involvement from the high ice cream and sweets in their diet and of course, frm the much more sedentary lifestyle inspite of hiking around the ashram, and without good agni ive focus or much strong asana or pranayama dynamic. Such interesting implications to discuss in my understanding for the extreme swing focus on low cholesterol dietary fats.
