Guest guest
Hi Timea and All - It is good to know where practitioners are and we have a way to get a visual on it now - has a new feature I've uploaded here in the left hand navigation column (if are at http://health.perinatalayurveda instead of just responding to emails). Scroll down to groups labs (beta) and click on applications. The People map feature allows us to post a marker where we are - love to see where everyone is there if you care to take 5 minutes and do it. Though I don't believe the shea has any anti-fungal properties, I am thinking of it for something that moisturizes, allows more breathe but at same time protects and stays on. I will have to try just applying an oil with it over top and see if it has any risk of the usual moist things creating stinging effect on oils. I don't think it will. Normally I use (other body parts) castor oil, but Baby normally doesnt' need that influence. Early postpartum moms are special case with candida...limiting carbs and sweet taste with their high caloric needs, fragile digestion, emotional sensitivities and other things makes it a situation requiring more of a dance with her about what works. She will have such strong cravings, and is not so much functioning from will-power mode for herself even tho for baby, heart/will are majorly strong together. So I don't like to advise restricting carbs and sweet taste, though definitely will favor for sweet, things like agave, stevia, more complex carbs, and stewed and fresh fruits instead of the other sugars. And the craving for sweets does get reduced as her body learns to burn fats for long burning fuel, which requires ample digestive spicing support. That will help avoid so many complicating sweets. Is there any other ayurvedic opinion here for early postpartum?
