Hi Timea -

Thanks for sharing - where is your practice? Do you have any experience or

input about shea butter? It hydrates as well as oleates, and gives some staying

power w/o being such a barrier item. I remember when my nipples were so dry and

cracked, oils didn't stay on well enough and honestly, at that time some lanolyn

or vitamine E oil worked best until I got out in the sun and built my vitamin D.

I like the coconut idea if it works too, and clarified butter (ghee) often helps

a mild case and is ok if Baby gets a little. Dr. Ramakant Mishra reported that

olive oil doesn't actually penetrate and nourish the skin as well. All three

are cooling, soothing.

Gentle essential oils added to the heavier oils increase the oil's effectiveness

and create oxygen enhancing and free radical reducing support influence. Just

don't mix with a water based creme or it may sting.

I was fascinated by that mother's use of frankincense oil for thrush, used right

in Baby's mouth as well as on nipples. And appalled of course at some of her

chronic imbalance conditions that made it so hard to heal. Personally, I'm out

of touch with what lasinoh even is, but avoid products with lanolyn or

petrochemical additives.

Warm Regards,

Ysha

> As a Lactation Consultant I always ask mothers not to use Lansinoh or any

barrier type ointment on their nipples and even on babies bottom.

work very well for diaper rush too.
