Regualar Flu shot push coming on strong for pregnant moms

From my vaccine awareness news source, it appears wise to think ahead here. IE,

Expectant mothers should make their plans/be educated and know how to deal with

choices before getting pressured into this and the swine flu shot. The question

is, do we know the choices and how to carry them out, if the US so called

" Mother's act " passes? The Senate wants to pass it in the US by end of the week.

It sounds like the shot will be required as part of the screening of all

pregnant mothers. Is this right?

Does anyone know the legal choices and are homebirth midwives going to be

required to push this also??

While Sen. Harken of Iowa is moving to mass vaccinate for free...these mass

vaccines will have Thimerosal in multi doses (with toxic mercury). This also may

mean two flu vaccines, one for Swine flu and one for whatever they can guess at.

Washington Post: U.S. May Add Shots for Swine Flu to Fall Regimen

Thanks again, Donna: Yes...of course..makes sense...if we are talking mass

vaccinations. This quote below is from the CDC website and as educated mothers

and professionals we cannot agree or support this::

Pregnant Women

" Pregnant women are at risk for influenza complications, and all women who are

pregnant or will be pregnant during influenza season should be vaccinated. The

American College of Obstetricians and Gynecologists and the American Academy of

Family Physicians also have recommended routine vaccination of all pregnant

women. "

" No preference is indicated for use of TIV that does not contain thimerosal as a

preservative (see Vaccine Preservative [Thimerosal] in Multidose Vials of TIV)

for any group recommended for vaccination, including pregnant women. LAIV is not

licensed for use in pregnant women. However, pregnant women do not need to avoid

contact with persons recently vaccinated with LAIV. "
