This is shared for those members of the group who still avoid

butterfat in favor of just olive oil or in other ways are not familiar

Of interest Women's health specifically these exerpts included:

5. Various studies have found that women who had regularly consumed

the greatest amounts of saturated fats had the least amount of

additional atherosclerotic plaque buildup in their arteries. Also,

women who ate more saturated fat had a healthier balance of HDL and

LDL cholesterol, and more desirable blood serum concentrations of

triglycerides and free fatty acids. American Journal of

Clinical Nutrition, Vol. 80, No. 5, 1102-1103, November 2004

6. A 3-year study of 235 women, released in 2004, concluded that " in

postmenopausal women with relatively low total fat intake, a greater

saturated fat intake is associated with less progression of coronary

atherosclerosis. " ...The same study revealed similarly surprising

results when it was disclosed that a greater consumption of

polyunsaturated oils " was also associated with greater progression of

atherosclerosis " . American Journal of Clinical Nutrition, Vol. 80,

No. 5, 1175-1184, November 2004 available online:

I am wondering if anyone has information regarding postmenopausal bleeding.

Specifically from the Ayurvedic standpoint. This particular woman has been

bleeding on and off for 2 years and has been to the doctor for tests to rule out

fibroids or cancer. She has a healthy diet and is taking basic vitamins.

Thanks for your ideas!

for pain, headache, etc.

add calcuim citrate 1000mg and magnesnim 600-800mg and the bleeding should stop

CHristina - Did your client/friend have good results yet? We all kind

of dropped the ball with the holidays etc... I would be looking at

possible pitta vikruti also, do you have any idea what that may mean?

INcluding also what is her history of cleansing blood/liver/pitta

toxins in her system that commonly accumulate in women over the pitta

time of life, from teens to the change of life for women, and in our

pitta culture also.
