Guest guest
HI Noel - A quickie here ... Not only will she need the special emphasis on agni all postpartum mothers need, and on iron as with non-constipating sources like stewed dried unsulphured fruits of black fig, raisin, prunes, dates and apricots, and stewed blueberries (or gently warmed fresh) she can benefit from products like " Floradix " which is well absorbed liquid iron supplement many of us recommend to clients with low iron count. I'd be taking double dose twice a day of it. As far as iron absorptive supports (certain b vitamins?) and supplements from classical Ayurveda, I must defer to more trained/experienced practitioners here. You have the foundations of Postpartum Care and Cooking unit? It will help also in your foods/cooking choices. Chinese medicine would be giving broth of marrow, we don't have to do that and with summer weather when it is really hot, I've had one client insistent on that modality decide otherwise due to the raised pitta temperment (irritability, anger) and the mucky hot sweats she experienced. This client will probably do well with a personalized herbal formula - is there an Ayurvedic practioner in your area who can check her pulse and do this? Blessings, Ysha > her words she has " had a big blood loss after the birth and surgery to remove placenta (lost 2700ml blood, apparently it's normal to only lose 1000ml. now my iron is low - had to have a blood transfusion!)
