Guest guest
Dear Group, While my training is craniosacral and massage, I find that when I go into the home of a family with a new born the demand is for me to act also as a postpartum doula and even lactation consultant. I so appreciate having this forum to help me step up the the plate and provide the needed care. The mother who's nipple's have been sore is now having trouble getting the baby to sleep at night. She says he basically takes only a nap in the day and they have tried chamomile baths and lavender near where he sleeps, but still they are generally up ALL night until 4 a.m. repeatedly. I suggested Gentle Baby on mom, or blended into warmed sesame oil that is put on the baby's head and feet. I need to see if they have done this. I will work with teaching the parents how to calm themselves with deep breaths and how to lull the baby into sleep. Also, I do not see them swaddling the baby even though I have made this suggestion. So, I will go over this with them also. Any further suggestions is most appreciated. Warmly with gratitude, Kim Luchau Infant/Mom Craniosacral Massage & whatever else Kaua'i Hawaii phone: 808.822.4644
