Guest guest
Aloha Group, Does anyone know of a postpartum doula in Honolulu? I have a client who will deliver very soon in Kaua'i, then will move to Honolulu probably 2-3 weeks after the baby arrives. She asked today if I knew of anyone who could support her at her new home. We would both be most grateful for any referrals! Warm regards, Kim Luchau Infant Craniosacral Therapist Kaua'i, Hawaii Phone: 808.822.4644
Guest guest
Hi Kim - I don't know any Ayurvedic doulas there thought there might be also one willing to travel (Hawaii?!). But I " ve sent your request to a woman named Melissa Sagara in HI who is a networker in the birth field and is likely to know how to find someone in Honolulu. As we discussed on the phone today, be sure to encourage her in every possible way not to be involved in the packing and unpacking, lifting and moving things. Crazy time to have to move, but with her husband's transfer and all they did to try to arrange around this baby, we just make the best of it. She is fortunate you are there to support her for a couple weeks. Ask her if she is willing to bring someone in with the Ayurvedic doula skills. I'll let you know if I hear from anyone. Guest guest
Thank you, Ysha. Perhaps someone would want to travel to beautiful Hawaii? They will be living in a west suburb of Honolulu and are lovely people. I am concerned that she will over do, so I appreciate the back up support to encourage her not to. She also has a very active and fun three year old who will be going through a huge transition to now have a sibling and a new home. But, fortunately the move after the delivery will bring the family back together, which has been difficult on the child. They have been sporadically together throughout the pregnancy, as you briefly mention because of the father relocating his work as soon as the mom found out she was pregnant. Any advice from the wise ones of the group is always appreciated. Guest guest
Thanks Patti - Kim/Jivani,if you connect and one is available, how about a 3 or 4 way phone conversation to bring them into the postpartum kayakalpa awareness at least. Their pk massage as long as done more gently and with extra attentions to avoiding even the warm Hawaii winds and other vata things in detail will be very good. They are probably very good ayurvedic cooks too and can quickly understand the main issues for mothers. They may want to see some of the correspondence notes. Blessings, Ysha > They are both very good PK techs. They're in Kauai.
Guest guest
Thanks everyone! I know Susan Wellismith and today I spoke at length with Abigail. Yes, both are PK technicians and well-trained in ayurveda beyond PK. Unfortunately they are not in Honolulu, Hawaii, which is where the mom will move to shortly after the delivery. Abigail has some Oahu contacts, so hopefully something will transpire. Another practitioner is here named Tatiana, I do know remember her last name. She has the postpartum experience. She too has Oahu contacts. I trust something will come. Thank you, Ysha for suggesting a 3 or 4 way phone conversation. Again, I trust something will come. warm regards with sincere thanks, Kim Jivani --- Ysha Oakes <AyurDoulas wrote: > Thanks Patti - > > Kim/Jivani,if you connect and one is available, how > about a 3 or 4 way > phone conversation to bring them into the postpartum > kayakalpa > awareness at least.
