Hello,

I have a friend that is 26 weeks along. She has very high blood

pressure and doctors are putting her on permanent bed rest. They don't

know yet if it is preeclampsia or not. The are extremely worried about

the safety of both mom and baby. Does any have any suggestions to

help? Thank you

Hi Annie;

This is correctly something to ask the licensed practitioners on the

group. In the meantime I'd be supporting with your wonderful

collection of essential oils (the sweet florals, chamomile like that)

and garlic milk before bedtime and earlier, with some added arjuna if

available until a more formal formula comes through, and overall

attending to pitta pacification however you can. Is she on bedrest at

home or in hospital?

Going into her third trimester already with high pitta, she probably

ignored the body's needs for pitta reducing in early pregnancy and is

likely our common type A pitta body type also? Yes of course it gives

risk for early delivery way before even the lungs are mature or ojas

has been passed (8th month) which is so vital for immune strength and

health. I don't know the particualars around HBP and pregnancy.

There is an accupressure blood pressure point, it is called, for the

emotion around panic (hmmm, a vata emotion!) which can be supported

with that wonderful blend we have called Trauma Life. I've used this

with a number of clients and they love it. It is inside the bicep,

near armpit and about midway. One drop will easily find it on both

arms. The person gets in touch with the neg emotion (if panic fits),

then in touch with the pos which in this case is identified as

Tranquility, then to themselves, " Peace, be still " .

Which reminds of the value of a deeply calming meditation practice

like TM or SAhaj Samadhi meditation, which can be learned during

pregnancy. Avoid all forceful pranayams, and enjoy great benefit I

would expect from the gentle version of alternate nostril pranayam

which you learned in class, do you remember it?

Another thing, she should be avoiding licorice in her teas at this time.

I look forward to responses from other more knowledgeable group members.

Blessings;

Ysha

there is a very safe and effect powder called Calm, that is just magnesium! The

pregnant woman can take 1 to 2 tablespoon 2 times a day to decrease blood

pressure, with 1 packet EmerGenC, in 20ounces of water diluted with juice,

50/50.

Magnesuim is what we give in the hospital for high blood pressure, so take it

NOW, and this will help.
