Guest guest
I have client who is allergic to lavendar but would like to add eoils to her hand creme I have recommended peace and calming and joy and maybe geranium although I dont have geranium to give to her. I know she wont want anything too expensive. She would like some to use for the baby too but cant use gentle baby because of lavendar. Do you have other recommdations? Thanks, Sonya
Guest guest
HI Sonya; Note the Joy blend may have a little lavender in it too? Hers may or may not be true allergy, as so much synthetic and pesticide laden lavender has circulated through people's experience that may have been her experience with it. In any case, there are many skin friendly oils (generally even better than lavender for skin), and though in a creme the other blend may do fine, I'd minimize it and favor these. ylang Ylang, chamomile, melaleuca ericafolia, cedarwood, patchouli all are unctuous and skin supportive with many good qualities, as are jasmine, neroli, sandalwood, rose (for those who can afford). For babies I like to have chamomile and that gentler melaleuca around (calming/tummy and the second is calming too, in addition to antimicrobial). Cedar is probably the cheapest of the bunch, with many nice properties; geranium a good choice of course. Do you have the desk reference or any book on essential oils uses? Connie Higley's version of it gives more attention to choices specific for infant needs as we discussed in class. Babies can benefit from all these oils too, depends on the influences you want. Blessings; Ysha > I have client who is allergic to lavendar but would like to add eoils to her hand creme I have recommended peace and calming and joy and maybe geranium although I dont have geranium to give to her.
