These notes from RMIYA herbal studies, Foundations of Ayurvedic

Medicine 1b, Dr. Lad/Frawley and others. Ah, I just noticed at the

end, the highly pitta increasing comment is for the root (pippali

mool). The seed less drying than black pepper, better for vata (below).

minutes. Drink warm.

OTHER REFERENCES:

Ojas promoting formulas (pippali milk), aama, fever remedies, chayvan

prash, trikatu

ETHNOBOTANY:

When green, the pepper is sweetish, heavy and unctuous and more kapha

increasing. When dry it anti V/K. The root is pungent, stomachic,

fatless and highly pitta increasing.

NOTE: I have not worked with the reversing lactose intolerance recipe

but here it is very valuable for some.

Thanks for those informative notes Ysha.

Wanted to share some information on the points you raised, but I'm off

to run an ayurvedic retreat this weekend! Have a good one and will

talk next week.

Best regards,

Gerald.
