Guest guest
This is from a previous client/friend/essential oils associate. She and Laura met at my home at least 8 years ago where a monthly gathering of perinatal professionals shared about their work and projects. Lots of stories around this! Posted for good news and connections; I feel some women do well this way, but believe backup, and professional attendance in the background - or foreground! is wise for most. Glad to see it is getting news coverage! (note this came in just over an hour ago, so reference is to Wednesday showing). Jenny also has an ebook telling her story/ies with postpartum psychosis and depression, gang rape in the mental hospital after the first which was remembered with the 5th pregnancy and worked through with glowing strength with essential oils abundantly used during pregnancy, and about 8 weeks full Ayurvedic care pre and postnatally. she is committed to sharing the story knowing now also that those who have a history of psychosis are required at least by the hostpital to go on antipsychotic drugs for at least 2 years postpartum, et al protocols. Warm Regards; Ysha Dear Family and Friends, Here is the Unassisted Childbirth clip from good morning america. http://abcnews.go.com/Video/playerIndex?id=4101994 Laura Shanley said the video may run tomorrow on the show, second hour, but it may be bumped again for a political story as it was last friday. Here is the accompanying article on GMAs site. http://abcnews.go.com/GMA/TurningPoints/story?id=4098198 & page=1 The comment section on this article is whizzing back and forth from positive to negative. I was pleasantly surprised by the tone of both the video and the article. It was not nearly as bad as I expected. FYI, the mother in the video Christina, gave birth to babies number two and three happily in the hospital with a nurse midwife. She felt pushed into a c-section with her fourth simply because her hospital had banned VBACs and the midwives who had been doing them. She and her husband decided that rather than have a second section she would take personal responsibility for a " do-it-yourself " birth. Many of you know that I organized our second conference in Boulder in 2001 and have written three books on the topic of Unassisted Homebirth. So this media covererage is very welcome. And I am grateful to GMA for taking the time to do a real story. Here are the links to my books and our on line video of the birth conference, which is hosted on my Natural Family Company site. In all of my spare time I have been either writing, blogging, or promoting home birth as the ideal way for parents to welcome children. This has been a labor of love, passionately dedicated to the babies who will be born in the decades to come.
