Guest guest
Alecananda Ma is one of several very good Ayurvedic practitioners and teachers in Boulder, Colorado. Her story is fascinating actually, written in her book Pilgrimage to the Mother, she was a Catholic Nun in England, and a medical doctor there. Neither hat sat quite right and she was trying a stint in the nunnery, then in medical service project in Africa, nothing quite right. Her sister looked at her water color paintings and said, you are going to India! All her art was rich with Indian design, symbolism, etc. She went on retreat to a Cristian ashram in India, pilgrimaged, met her husband and guru, studied with Dr. Lad, practiced medicine and ayurveda in multiple places etc. For years now has a little ashram and panchakarma/ayurvedic services clinic in Boulder, CO. When she first came to Boulder she worked as a postpartum Ayurvedic doula!
