Guest guest
Dear Group, Can anyone offer assistance to this situation? I saw a four month old girl yesterday for an infant craniosacral session. Her mother told me that her doctor said the baby has a labial adhesion, which is apparently a condition in the labia, near the vagina which may make her subject to urinary tract infections. The western doctor wants to prescribe progesterone cream to change the labia tissue, but the mother is cautious and intested in finding another approach. How would those in the ayurvedic field work with such a condition. The doctor also said she may outgrow this condition, but wanted to use the hormone cream to prevent possible UTI problems. The mother and I would both be grateful for whatever input can be offered. Sincerely, Kim Luchau infant craniosacral therapist Kaua'i, Hawaii
Guest guest
My daughter had this when she was 3 months old. It is often a reaction to the chemicals in disposable diapers. Causing the tissues to dry out and adhear. We switched to cloth diapers and then treated the area for 2 days and it opened back up. We massaged the area very gently with sesame oil or coconut oil- I can not remember which. Just put a little oil on the end of a q-tip and gently massage the tissue. ~K
