With respect to gati and Dr. Lad's use of it as pulse terminology it

gives the idea that one has to know the unique expression of VPK through

the pulse of each pathology. This mans that the feel of the pulse for

diabetes is different than the feel of the pulse in a patient of

emphysema, for example. It's used also to give expression to pushing and

blocking of and by the doshas in multi-doshic imbalances (sannipata and

samsarga). This nuance of pulse is useful in the latter case in that the

causative dosha is identified as well as the effected dosha(s), which

then become causative of imbalance too. As for the first case above, this

feature/meaning places great emphasis on having a vast pulse experience

to know the different diseases just by the gati.
