Guest guest
Namaste I am wondering at what age can bastis be given for children. I seem to recall that a basti can be given in infancy, but I can't find a reference or guidance re: types of oils and appropriate amounts. Guest guest
For nursing children need for basti does not arise. If there is constipation, gas, colic just warm some castor oil and give a light pressure massage in an area about 4 centimeter radius around navel. Let mother take a series of basti and the effect will travel to baby through energy transferred while feeding. God has given us thinnest skin where energy travel has to be rapid, instant and where heart (thymus, anahat chakra) or brain(pituitary, sahastrar chakra) are involved. ayurveda , " tanyanash " <omammamoon wrote: > I am wondering at what age can bastis be given for children. Guest guest
Thank you Dr. Bhate. A question for clarification - is the castor oil to be taken internally by the child (she's 13 months), used for the massage or both? If its to be taken internally, what would be the appropriate amount/frequency/timing - she's small for her age - more like the size of a six month old. Guest guest
Most important point here is why did you think baby needed a basti? Her problem is unknown, and remedy is being discussed? are we not putting cart before horse? If it is just constipation, colic etc, try home remedies: http://health.ayurveda/message/1298 castor oil to be applied on belly, not ingested even if you feel the situation for basti exists. If baby has hard constipation, then more thinking is needed before basti/ingestion can be considered. ayurveda , " tanyanash " <omammamoon wrote: >is the castor oil > to be taken internally by the child (she's 13 months), used for the > massage or both?
