I believe gently warming the dates and maybe bananas too with pinch of black pepper, and pinch cardamom perhaps, adds direction in this application, also tastes great enhancing agni for the heavy sweetness. Dr. and Usha Lad's Ayurvedic Cooking for Self Healing likely has some good advice also, but I'll resist taking the time just now. I'm hesitant to use lavender flowers much in spite of lovely taste, as I once served to a friend in cake, tea and something else for his birthday and the diuretic effect was tremendous (oops). Perhaps small amount is fine; how do you add - soaking blossoms in the honey a bit? Love, Ysha > Bananas, Figs and Dates with a little honey (Lavender is yummy).
