ADVANCED HERBAL PREPARATIONS

Prerequisite Ayurveda I (July 19th(eve) thru JULY 23rd)

 

Taught by Dr. Sarita Shrestha, M.D., B.A.M.S., Nepali Ayurvedic physician

 

who has developed formulations for Ayurvedic pharmaceutical companies

as well as received a royal commendation for her clinical work with

rural populations, and is a prominent and sought-after Ayurvedic

teacher in the west. This is Dr. Shrestha's only teaching engagement

in Colorado in 2007.

 

This 30-hr training provides: hands-on training in methods of

collecting, preparing, and purifying common plants and mineral

substances, and how to prepare medicinal oils, cough syrups, and

rejuvenative jams such as chyvanprash. (You must register for Part I,

or have taken equivalent training elsewhere, in order to register for

Part II).

Ayurvedic Medicine I

Taught by Dr. Sarasvati Buhrman, Ph.D., senior faculty member,

N.A.M.A.-registered Ayurvedic medicine practitioner and classical Yoga

therapist

 

Ayurvedic Medicine is the complementary medical system of ancient

India. It is particularly effective in personal and family health

maintenance, and in the management of digestive disorders; chronic

degenerative illnesses; allergies, sinus infections and asthma;

gynecological issues, and depression and anxiety. It teaches us how to

maintain a high level of wellness throughout our lives, and fosters a

balanced approach to the health of Body, Mind, and Spirit.

 

This 45-hour professional level intensive introduces the following:

 

Assessment of Ayurvedic Constitution (prakrti)

Assessment of Current Imbalances, Pulse and Tongue diagnosis (vikrti)

Daily and Seasonal Routines for Health

Ayurvedic Dietary and Nutritional Principles

Introduction to 50 basic herbs, spices, and medicinal oils

Simple home remedies for common ailments

Ayurvedic Anatomy and Physiology

The use of Cleansing Practices and Yoga Therapies for Maintaining and

Restoring Health

 

Cost $725 or $650 if paid in full by JULY 16
