Has anyone else seen Al Gore's website? Appears recent, but thelinks

are tremendous. Disheartening, except many posts discuss concerns

collectively and particularly we have seen in Ayurveda, much can be

done if we share it. A beginning invite to discussions -

Science Byte: A study in Michigan reports that follow-up

testing for lead levels is less likely for children living in

high-risk compared to low risk areas. At least half of the children

whose lead levels were abnormally high miss follow-up tests. Missed

check-ups were more likely for Hispanic and nonwhite children, and for

children in urban vs rural areas. These differences in care are likely

to increase the burden of cognitive impairment among at-risk children.

Science Byte: Prenatal exposure to lead during the third

trimester has significant impacts on childhood intellectual

development, with lasting and possibly permanent effects. The study,

carried out in Mexico City, found no evidence of a threshold. The

steepest part of the dose-response curve was within the first few

µg/dL of blood lead, indicating that much of the damage is already

occurring at the lower levels of exposure. EHP. 30 December 2005.

Off the top of my head, what comes up is the value of red cabbage to

help remove lead from the body. How much? Dunno - learned this from

friend in the stained glass artistry trade. And are there other

methods ? Most likely a search at

www.ayurveda will yield much discussion

and useful tools for practitioners with diverse cultural populations.

Also comes up the urgency to create education on essential value of

life changing habits. Question to vaidyas - how life changing or

reversable?

Warm Regards;

Ysha
