Guest guest
If you ever have the opportunity to study with Dr. Lad in the US or India, please consider it. He is such a kind, expierienced, gentle and enlightened man and excellent teacher. Rather how Dr. Bhate sounds, but I have not had the good fortune to meet Dr. Bhate in person! This first class more than fulfills the level 1 herbal study requirement for AyurDoula training. Students will need to have attended foundational Ayurvedic classes as well. (Mike, please define what prereqs in terms of theory familiarity and terminology are needed to gain most from these classes?) The marma study for those who can take it we call level 3/advanced, it will be valuable for mothers and babies with special needs, those who are ill and cannot receive the home spa care as we call the mother's abhyanga, and of course many diverse client applications. Marma Chikitsa: Ayurvedic Vital Energy Points for Assessment and Healing of Organs, Dhatus and Srotas Dr. Vasant Lad, BAMS, MASc July 6-12, 2007 A marma is a vital energy point accessed on the surface of the body that serves as a bridge between the body, mind and spirit. These sites are infused with prana, the life force, and imbued with consciousness, which is most lively in expressing itself at these locations. A combination of lecture and practical, hands-on techniques, you will study and practice this 5,000-year-old system of healing therapy. Learn the most important marma points that address problems specific to each area of the body. Dr. Lad will teach methods from this ancient Vedic knowledge on how to use oils, touch, gemstones and color to bring each system back into balance. Uses of marma therapy for balancing the doshas and the srotamsi (bodily channels) as well as through the practice of aromatherapy are all included. These skills can be used to enhance your existing practice or for personal well-being.
