Hi,

I hope you all have entered the New Year well and enjoy life in every

breath.

Depite my small engagement with the , I enjoy the

information. Thank you.

A quick question:

Should honey be omitted completely during pregnancy and early

postpartum?

Dear Heidi;

I see no reason to eliminate honey for pregnancy or postpartum unless

you are giving counsel to reduce pitta. The thought may have come

from discussions about not giving babies honey first year? This is

from the American Academy of Pediatrics. Or did this question come

from another source? And of course is always an issue for anyone if

the honey has been cooked or made hot temperature.

I hope you have many students enjoying your skilled asana and pranayam

classes this year, as well as mothers and babies benefiting from your

conscious, loving care.

Warmly;

Ysha

Hi Ysha,

Thank you.

I'll let the mothers know that they can enjoy honey as long as they

don't overheat it and their pitta is not aggravated.
