Guest guest
Can someone tell me what to give a 3 week old with constipation? I'm hoping my client hasn't been mxing the frmula improperly but will be returning her call today. Vicky Hi Vicky; I've successfully used just ghee, on the nipple before feeding oops, well on the bottle nipple or better yet, warmed in the oh my formula. Formula of course is very constipating. Will take repeated doses with feedings until moving regularly AT LEAST once a day. If it were my daughter's baby (leaving out the breastfeeing /formula issues) I'd include about 1/8 tsp regularly in the bottle, but at this time about 1/3 tsp. Sometimes the other end needs support and gentle massaging of anus with ghee, or castor oil, stimulates bowel movement. For stronger up front action, castor oil instead, internal and rectal. All other animals lick the infant, it is the warm wet action, well discussed in a book called Touching by Ashley Montagu. Is it soy or dairy formula or? And be sure it is not given room temp or cold. A homemade formula will be better choice for the life force value of course. Ysha
