Guest guest
Dear Shannon; You sound like a woman of spiritual heart for sure. This opportunity for deeper and broader bonding is facilitate without effort by observing/doing what we can of the postpartum ayurvedic recommendations. It is not someting we have to try to do, it is our Nature. I love the simplicity. Forgive if I repeat myself, don't think I told this here. One class I had a mother of 3 expecting 4th say, " I have been told that whenever a woman has a baby, she looses 1/4 of her mind. Do you think this is true? " We had fun with that one...maybe I won't tell our conclusion just yet, and see who feels what about it...clue is in the bonding as well as in the doshas... > Ysha, have you any recommendations for getting started on the studies here in California? I am near Mt. Madonna and they offer ayurvedic training. I live in teh San Francisco area, so I'm sure there has to be something out here. Shannon, you have several choices that I know off the top and I've seen others. It does depend on whether you want your studies to be recognized by the NAMA. Correspondence studies are available but they just aren't the same. I think it is Frawley, maybe Svoboda who has excellent for home study course. They are sometimes the best solution however, for young mothers! Other than that, check into Dr. Jay Apte there in SF, who has a school in the east bay there, as does the CCAM (calif college of ayurveda, with campuses in Oakland, Grass Valley, and Mt. Madonna). Maharishi Ayurved has two clinics in SF now, but I don't think they are teaching classes right now. If you google Ayurveda schools in Calif, you may be surprised at options. There is something in Santa Rosa also. Possibly Mary Jo Cravatta, excellent practitioner with multiple hats, my give some classes in Marin County. Many Blessings; Ysha
