Guest guest
Dear Vicky; Actually, mine was a stretched use the vedic word, but honoring the virtue and common purpose of unity in the gathering nonetheless. Many definitons, include (straight from google web results) Satsang ~ The word “Satsang†is derived from “sat†meaning Truth or Absolute Existence, and “sang†meaning association with. Consequently the literal meaning of Satsang is to be in the company of the wise and virtuous, or a spiritual discourse by a sage or scholar. Satsang is about energising the fundamental Guru/Disciple relationship. In a world where the predominant focus of attention is 'out there', Satsang provides an environment which affirms the practise of looking within. ...the inner voice of guidance and teaching that is awakened within you as you develop the potentials of your Soul. also An essembly of true believers; congregation. A meeting of aspirants to hear and discuss scriptures, chant, meditate and sit with the teacher. The company of the highest knowledge and Truth; the company of a Guru; contact with a person or an assembly of persons who listen to, talk about, and assimilate the Truth. This highest company also takes the form of hearing or reading the words of highest awareness, reflecting on, discussing and assimilating their meaning, meditating on the source of these words, and bringing this awareness into oneÂ's daily life. this last one from en.wikipedia.org Like most working in the field of natural childbirth, we are not primarily or sometimes even enough driven by financial motivations, except in as much as the real wealth is health, happiness, wisdon, love and joy in life. For me, service being an affair of the spiritually guided heart, it is a spiritual concern. Even though our attachments to accomplishments, or simply rajasic activity (I may let you all google that one gals and see what you find?) sometimes takes us sideways or even depletes when we meant to be creating more harmony and unity. This last statement is what I find more commonly an issue needing address from many otherwise very sincere gatherings, due to insufficient personal yogic practices (meaning practices which create unity). Can create a lot of wheel spinning. I speak of personal experience as well as others! Namaste! Ysha > ...What is satsang? signed, poor silly allopathic me.
