Guest guest
Please, pardon any cross posting...but not everyone is one every single list! Just a thought for those of us who have video'd our own births... If anyone would like to send a copy of their birth, I'd be happy to compile them onto a DVD or CD. You'd have your birth along with anyone else who wanted to share. I'm going to put my sons transfer from BC to hospital on, my daughters would be on, but my father actually erased it... yeah...her natural, BC birth, erased...I could beat him. I'm posting this to other sites too...Even if only 6 women are willing to share their births...that's still 6 births to educate with and witness. As of right now there should be enough births for one disk. If anyone would like to share stills/slideshow of a birth that is welcome also. If you'd like to send an email of your written birthstory with it...please do. If you'd be able to 'interview' your partner/children who attended to get their reactions... As a father/partner... how do you think having a doula/midwife/uc/homebirth helped/would have helped? is there anything you wish you'd known, would have been told/shared with? wish you'd done? And the kids...what was their thoughts? what did they love/hate?... Every kind of birth is welcome...from a c-section to a UC/freebirth from natural/very hands off to high intervention/technology. Also, if you've some great hint, tip, recipe for pregnancy, birth, pp, breastfeeding...please, add it or just send it. We all have so much to learn and share...let us share with one another what we've learnt on our birth, doula'ing, ece, lactation consultants, momma and midwifery journeys...Stories of miscarriage or still birth are quite welcome. I'll be adding my own miscarriage 'birth' story. (I have had 5 miscarriages). I really would love for all of us to share our knowledge. Remember, this is for doulas, ece, midwives, anyone who is interested in the birth process. Someone said you need to have waivers signed for anyone in your video, so if you can, get people to sign those. I don't know why you'd need one...if someone disagreed I'm sure they would have said something while you were filming them..but, I'm no lawyer. We're just sharing family pic's, help & advice here! So...that's up to you. If you've a long one (labor/birth), I will probally edit/shorten time when it's the same position/pushing/labor... Please, send along with the info what the baby weighed, how long s/he was, etc. If you'd like to include baby's name & birthdate that would be great too. Also, other people will see these...men, women and possibly children. If you are not comfortable with others seeing this...please don't send it to add. On a side note...if anyone wants their birth copied to dvd from tape and not be on the disk I'll do that too. I've expressed interest in and I've been asked to become the OSD coordinator for Ohio, but OSD coordinators have to be Cappa certified. If you'd like to send a donation to help me pay for the certification I'd be happy to copy them for you. Just make sure it's obvious that this birth is not for the public. I'm no whiz, but I can burn a mean cd. There would be no charge for it...jut pay your own mail fees. If you want a video, but don't want to share or unable to share your own birth you'd have to pay for your own cd/dvd and shipping, but...what would it be? 5 bucks? Oh, and promise to never charge someone or sell the videos. Also, you'd have to say thank you to those who would contribute their birth with some kind of e-card. If you're interested...email me and I'll send you directions and such.
