Hi Janel, yes it can be! Some ayurvedic background will help some of it, and a deep respect for the way too many exceptions to the norm (that's another discussion to define). Sure is good there are women like you with the resources to study and support women thru such birth experience. It would be very valuable I htink to create and add the input from a more appropriate interview assessing the ayurvedic understanding of postnatal influences also, which can make any abusive or poor care context dig it's influential heels in much deeper and stick, or heal deeeeply and profoundly. I had to sign out of a couple forums and ppd scenes where women are so encouraged to keep emoting and digging out the damage, which with notihing else to do well, tho that doesn't " get rid of the problem " certainly someting is needed to stay real with the feelings. Ayurveda is so compassionately rejuvenative to body and emotions, it really is a valuable support in such cases especially. It is difficult for me to spend much time in what sounds like it often becmes wallowing, attachment to those processes at the cost of not listening to possible solutions. When I have seen such results. Hopefully I haven't enraged anyone as I also want to express all due respect in my heart for the fact that I have many limitations on my client flow (not very many a year, really, due to extended care when I was really active, and less when my menopausal and other health conditions slowed me down)...I'd love to be let loose to practice in a larger group setting and see what we can do! Intense stuff it is...Wishing you much success in your work.
