Guest guest
Greetings Perinatal Ayurveda Group, Such a meeting is so timely and wonderful. It is with great pleasure that I introduce myself and say an initial hello to you all, whoever you may be. I find myself working with newborns and mothers more and more. The information that you all can share with me will likely be exactly what fits well into what I already do. I have been practicing craniosacral therapy full-time for the past 14 years. The past several years my focus has more and more gone to working with newborns and young children. This work is my great love and passion in life. For those of you not familiar with craniosacral therapy, it is an extremely gentle form of hands-on bodywork that can help to re-shape heads after difficult births, calm and clear trauma, colic, fussiness, constipation, sleeping challenges, etc. Prior to becoming a craniosacral therapist, (which involved a six-year apprenticeship with an osteopath along with numerous courses with four other osteopaths which included pediatric training) I was a devoted student of yoga for 12 years. I had the great fortune of meeting Dr. Vasant Lad 20 years ago who deepened my fascination of ayurveda in a short course I took from him. The study of ayurveda then became a hobby of sorts for years. Then craniosacral studies consumed me until I began traveling in India, where I was re-introduced to ayurveda. Then, this last year after some health challenges I turned to ayurvedic medicine. The benefits were so enormous and dramatic that I now very often consider ayurveda when working with moms and newborns. I see that my knowledge is limited. Learning more would be so useful. Giving moms tips on homecare is so very important. I want to know more to be able to help more. Thank you you for the opportunity to say hello and join your group. Sincerely, Kim Jivani Luchau p.s. email is not my best form of communication. If any of you want to reach me by phone, that works much better for me. My number is 303.449.9800 ext.
