Guest guest
Dear Rasa; I came online today in spite of otherthings not only having missed my community here but in appreciation of this chart. I have only one piece of feedback I can give, that is about after 6 weeks, the normal poops discussion. It says, it is normal to stool every 1 - 7 days ...!!! This is a sign The mothers either/and: Are consistently not getting generously enough good fats (butterfat, other good cholesterols, some sesame and olive oils, not deep frieds here, some flax oil or fish oil may suit/be needed also) Probably eating red meat Possibly giving formula Probably not enough liquids, especially warm temp Quite possibly taking iced foods and drinks Otherwise becoming more vata aggravated in food and activity herself, Perhaps giving the baby solids, oh my. And that the doc or whoever created the charts and I have heard some such advice before - that they have no idea what infant abdominal comfort is about and it's relationship to gas, immune strength, and other things. Every baby I've seen not pooping AT LEAST once daily is uncomfortable and difficult to console, increasingly. The acidity and toxin backup alone will do this, to say nothing of other experientials around constipation. THanks! Warm REgards; Ysha
Guest guest
Hi Vicky - Gas is actually a good diagnostic from which we can sometimes prevent the greater discomfort brewing .... it is a sign to ask more questions about the mom's diet (baby's!)and see what little or bigger adjustments can be made hopefully to prevent accumulations leading to colic. Gas in a very vata tummy can be excruciating, in a relaxed tummy can be no big deal for themoment of course. Yes, the smiling thing is cute, eh? With my moms, an example here about the gas significance .... I'm remembering an Indian woman who supposedly was " on the postpartum dietary recommendations " , with her elder mother there, and a girlfriend who owned an indian restaurant bringing " appropriate " foods daily. The gas she released during her second massage (after having told me everything was fine, digestion, gas, etc) was a sign to ask deeper and discover things like pease, onions, tomatoes, and other things in the foods. Regular use over several weeks often leads builds up into colic for baby as well as compromised rejuv and comforts for mom. > A little off topic....I notice that gas is way over rated..blaming everything on gas. What about all the times babies toot and don't cry beforehand. So I doubt much of their crying is gas. We even blame smiling on gas (like WE smile when we have gas:) Vicky
