Dear members of the perinatalayurveda group-

I am pleased to introduce myself, Charlotte Sternkind Del Toro in Austin, TX.

You may

wonder how I heard about you and came to Martha's invitation to join; I have

never

formally met any of you but hope to do so, I have had several lovely

conversations with

Martha Oakes who first contacted me because I have the website name and have

been

operating in Austin under the name Ayurdoula. This name was born for me about 4

1/2

years ago rising out of meditation with a query as to what name I should adopt.

At the

time, the search engines didn't link to anything under that name and .com was

available.

Working on getting that site up.

I first came to Ayurveda when I entered my sade sati in 1998. Lord Saturn

provoked a

divorce, a move to another city in Texas, a change in career, a new marriage and

my

training in Vedic topics. I started going to the Surya program of the School

for Evolution

of Humanity in Asheville, NC, where I completed level Surya 4. If you're

interested, you

can look up the site suryaprogram.com. I started meditating, met my first

Ayurvedic

practicioner by divine design in Austin (we are both named Charlotte). I use

Ayurvedic

herbs personally, Ayurvedic oils as a massage therapist and L & D doula. I

trained myself

to cook using Vasant Lad's cookbook when I had a bad pitta flare several

summers ago, I

don't eat my kitchari exclusively though, I'm way to fond of all tastes to do

that.

My massage and doula training was with Rima Star, a noted waterbirth expert. I

am also a

certified infant massage instructor (IAIM-US). I am almost done with my

certification for

DONA (Doulas of North America). Most recently, I had the oppportunity to attend

Penny

Simkin's workshop " When Survivors Give Birth " and just by the required reading

of this

book brought forth many memories both karmic and present life related to abuse

on many

different levels. Fortunately, my physician has got me on a tea with ashoka for

all that

grief.

I am looking forward to meeting all the ladies in Boulder, hopefully this year,

or if any of

you have contacts in Austin, I would love to meet them.

Hugs-

Charlotte Del Sternkind Toro
