Guest guest
I apologize for not responding to your wonderful, welcoming emails sooner. I joined a few days ago and didn't have time yet to do an intro. I was surprised to see a few emails directed to me and I see Martha introduced me. Thanks, Martha. It's nice to see some familiar names. Hi, Linda!! And, thanks for your email, Vicky. What is your article from Mothering Magazine? That is exciting!! to be publishing with them. Mothering my favorite magazine. I really love the Ayrveda work. I have not yet done any training so I don't even begin to profess anything, it just speaks to me -- deeply -- body, mind, and soul. As I wrote in my email to Martha that she shared, the first time I read her homepage, I reeally felt the truth deep within me about the need to nurture the mother and the baby for an extended time. Forty-two days of that level of nurturing and care. I was in sobs. Thankfully, I was years into my own birth trauma healing as baby and woman, and I knew the hope for healing. My first child's birth was very traumatic and I already knew how it had affected and framed our lives thereafter. He was 25 when I began to unthaw from his very traumatic birth. I went back to school when he was two weeks old. It ain't pretty when we start to " come to " from these violating experiences, the decisions and choices, and our acceptance of what society says is normal. I am very, very interested in how our prenatal and birth experiences, AND the first hours and weeks of life shape us and create what we are groomed to label and doomed to see and accept as guilt. Or not! My grandson was born Dec 23 in Phoenix (did you see his picture on my homepage?!?!) What a soul. He brought me so many gifts before, during and since his birth. One of the greatest is clarity in my work --- which will be coming out soon!! I look forward to knowing you all more. I love emails and stories! Guest guest
janel, sounds like you have much to offer, I would learn much over a cup of tea with you. Email will have to do. Glad you joined. The article is the Trend Toward Night Doulas, it's about empowering the mother during the day instead of taking over for her during the night. Mothering paid me for that article but I am much more honored that the APPPAH is printing it for me unpaid. I've attached it. Guest guest
Hi, Vicky -- I don't see the attachment or how to access it. Can you send it to me at my email address? janel_miranda Thanks!! I look forward to reading it -- very interesting title to me after just being with my daughter birthing her son, over a two+ day period. I wonder if you discuss the trend of inducing in the morning to have baby by evening. The number of staff people are certainly less during the night (good thng. Such clamor and chaos comes with the early morning shift. We could sit over POTS of coffee, I bet, with so much to share. I love connecting with others who are also doing such awesome work, each a piece of the bigger picture. The internet is allowing us to connect in powerful ways.
