Hi Erin;

Have you studied the ayurvedic pulse assessment? She mentioned someone

in North central California also even more skilled at it, she

recommended to do the teaching. I'll let you know when I find their

names. If you saw my office ...

She said she had studied Ayurveda with Dr. Lad, I beilev,e, then her

midwifery catches took place on the Mexico border, one of the get your

midwifery clinicals quickly with lots of them in short order places

(IE, lots of clients each day)! Those with the constitution to do it,

grow quickly! She decided each day she would focus in the pulse on

one thing - meconium, breech, etc. So each pregnant or postpartum

mama that came through, she practiced her pulse skills on along with

whatever the midwifery school required. This woman is quite young,

hopefully we will hear from both of them before long!

Thanks Martha,

I am still not sure of who this midwife is, but if the woman in

Northern California is who I think it is, she is a dear friend of

mine! Hopefully I'll be able to start putting some of these pieces

together. It's very exciting! Thanks again!

I have not studied the pulse....I have been so busy with my midifery

training over the last years! And, of course, most of that was from a

western perspective albeit including western herbs, homeopathy, and

tradtional homegrown empirical midifery knowledge. Midwifery on its

own is such a huge undertaking, I applaud anyone who has also been

able to develop pulse diagnosis skills. Perhaps one day I'll get

there! Or somewhere close to there :)

Speaking of accolades; such needed skills/mentoring for any community!

>Midwifery on its own is such a huge undertaking

As you are able to add the ayurvedic wisdom, not just pulse, which

requires much other background to be able to do the ayurvedic three

part/7 level/21 aspects (at least!) pulses, you will see another

quantum leap! I myself am a young child at it, having focused on the

postpartum ayurveda I was called into, and found that alone along with

a good ayurvedic foundation, can serve so many so much.

>I applaud anyone who has also been able to develop pulse diagnosis

Warm Regards;

Martha
