Guest guest
Hello everyone, My name is Erin, I just happily joined this group! I am 29 years old, I am a midwife (not currently practicing), living in Idaho but planning to move back to New Mexico this summer. I began attending births about 8 years ago as a doula, right around the time I became interested in Ayurveda. A good friend of mine practices Ayurveda, and most of my limited knowledge of the system comes from her instruction and my own informal studies, reading, etc. My educational backround is in art therapy, women's health, and midwifery. I graduated from the Seattle Midwifery School in 2004. I have studied/worked in three midwifery practices in Washington, Oregon, and Idaho. Although I have worked in a hospital-based practice and attended hospital births, most of my midwifery experience has been in out-of hospital practices and I am homebirth midwife through and through. I have employed Ayurvedic principles and treatments extensively in my own life and less so in my midwifery practice. I am thrilled to have discovered the group, and I look foward to learning more about Ayurveda as it relates to motherbaby. Warmly, Erin
Guest guest
Welcome Erin! Wish me well getting my files in order - when I was at the Midwive's conference (MANA) in Boulder, I met a woman from New Mexico who is so skilled at the pulse around pregnancy and birth, she can, for instance, read meconium in the pregnant mother's pulse, like that. So much sharing needs to go on to get these skills out to so many mothers and babies. It can simplify the whole process and make for so much deeper extended bonding ... Guest guest
Thank you all for your Welcomes! I made another reply, but somehow I think it is lost in cyberspace.... Martha, I'd love to know this woman you speak of. Is her name Terri? If you ever recall this woman's name please do let me know! Meconium forewarning would be a very useful tool. ~Erin ayurveda , " Martha Oakes " <martha@s...> wrote: > > Welcome Erin! > Wish me well getting my files in order - when I was at the Midwive's > conference (MANA) in Boulder, I met a woman from New Mexico who is so > skilled at the pulse around pregnancy and birth, she can, for > instance, read meconium in the pregnant mother's pulse, like that.
