Since studying with Sarita, and learning the pitta increasing prabhava I think we must call it of leavy greens, on top of their bitter/astringent vata increasing tendencies, I have minimized or avoided them the first 2 - 3 weeks, unless the moms begg for them. As Sarita shared, in traditional ayurveda they are using only the dried leafy greens, which seem to not have the pitta qualities, made into thick iron rich seasoned (balanced sauces at this time if indicated.
