Guest guest
Dear all: I have a friend, 7-months postpartum (like myself), who just learned that her estrogen is too low. She doesn't want to take hormone therapy (smart) so I have recommended flax oil and foods high in phytoestrogens. What amount of flax would you recommend, and are there some herbs or oils that also help boost estrogen? Thanks so much, Cora
Guest guest
Hi Cora; In a situation like this I would be taking 3 TBS of highest lignan flax oil daily, mixed hopefully in some cottage cheese or the like, or on whatever. It goes down easier with honey, also. Certainly to be on the safe side if she can afford the testing and recs from a nurse practioner or doctor who has been working alternative for a while, they can recommend doses from a cohosh based product. I'm pretty informal, leaning a lot on kinesiology when my budget doesn't go all those places sometimes.
