Guest guest
Does any one have advice on bladder control besides kegels? The person I am working with right now is having difficulty after having twins c-sec. She said she soaked the bed one night and had to wear a depends another. I know it can be a problem after child birth especially after c-sec. Can it also be caused from being overly tired? Overly vata? Thanks, Sonya
Guest guest
Hi Sonya; Too bad everyone issed our phone conversatoin last night ... if you can summarize key points and have the time to share, please do. I'm hoping others will respond here. I'm quite sure > being overly tired? Overly vata? are key parts of the picture. According to Dr. Saraswati Burhrman, the yogic banda/(Ashwini mudra?) similar to the kegel will be more effective for restoring bladder control, in that is pulls up and back more engaging the rectal muscles also in the energy lock. When I compare, energetically this feels more effective although the mind says, but it is about the bladder muscles. The latter focus can be too limited even though a kegel is supposed to engage also the rectal part of that tripple figure 8 muscle. The yogic exercise focus establishes a better integration with the kundalini seat/shakti. I don't know if it relates here or not, but Nurse practitioner/traditional midwife Shawna Doran in Alachua Florida explained that excess estrogen in the system will also give even perimenopausal women or others problems with bladder control. THe " 6 years postpartum " cliend I recently was working with has this problem at age 33. (Hormonal testing showed progesterone on the floor, a bigger issue than the estrogen for her, and she was advised to come off the pill/patch. Due to the other complications of a high Wellbutrin prescription, use of progesterone cream was temporarily withheld while we watch other adjustments more critical).
