Hi Sonya;

Yes, even without a C it takes many moms 2 - 4 years to recover from

childbirth - took me 3 or 4 after my first baby to feel any where near

" normal " again. Dr. Sarita Shrestha, whose master's level work

specialized in postpartum, explains that after surgery, grief such as

loss of a baby, or other compounded challenges, to figure on at least

3 - 6 months even with the ayurvedic postpartum care. My training

with Maharishi Ayurveda as yo umay remember called it an 8 week

Kayakalpa window of opportunity instead of 6, with recommendaton to

wait until 10 days postpartum to begin the ayurvedic mother's massage.

I find my mothers are begging for it way before then, and that

gentler application of the warm oil, and avoidign the lower belly, is

key.

It is scary to think what kind of society we are creating with women

taking " control " and so much " responsibilties " so quickly. Will

becomes primary and self perpetuating, for sure. Doesn't do

relationships much good, in general.

Also application of essential oils enhances the recovery time greatly,

not only for the common emotional uses, but the therapeutic grade ones

support oxygenation and tissue healing, avoiding complication on the

incision (at least lavender oil, helichrysum is the best to minimize

scar tissue. And lavender if not the stronger Young Living blend

called Panaway on the spine and base of neck, particularly on the site

of needle in the spine for epidurals, for avoidign or turning around

the inevitable headaches from them.

Do you have a C client now?

Warm Regards;

Martha
